The School currently comprises the Department of Aviation Economics, the Department of International Trade, the Department of Finance, and the Department of Low-Altitude Aviation Engineering.
2. Faculty and Student Profile
The faculty is well-qualified, with a total of 54 staff members. Among the professional faculty, 47% hold senior professionaltitles (20% are professors and 27% are associate professors), and 32% hold doctoral degrees. The faculty includes 2 doctoral advisors and 5 master’s advisors, as well as one National Outstanding Teacher and one Outstanding Teacher of Guangdong Province. Additionally, several faculty members serve as members of the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Education Guidance Committee. Currently, there are 1,250 students enrolled.
3. Highlights
The School’s International Economics and Trade program is a provincial-level first-class major. Programs such as International Economics and Trade and Finance are Provincial Pilot Programs for Comprehensive Teaching Reform, while the E-commerce program is a Provincial Program for Strategic Emerging Industries.The School currently has four provincial-level teaching teams and one provincial-level industry-academic college.
In terms of academic platforms, the School boasts a provincial-level key discipline in International Economics and Trade, a university-level key discipline in Finance, and two university-level professional master’s degree programs in“International Business” and “Finance.” These programs focus on cutting-edge areas such as the digital economy and innovative development, emerging finance, and digital trade and cross-border e-commerce. Additionally, the School leverages four provincial and ministerial-level research platforms—including Center for Polar Studies, Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Research Center of International Economic and Trade Rules—to provide robust support for academic research and talent development.
The School continuously innovates its talent development model, having established a “Aviation + International Trade” dual-drive approach. Starting with the Class of 2026, students may, upon completing their major coursework, pursue micro-majors in cutting-edge fields such as drone applications, low-altitude safety and emergency management, and low-altitude finance at no additional cost; upon successful completion, they receive certificates certified by CHSI (China Higher Education Student Information Network). The school is also actively refining its “Theory + Simulation +Practical Training + Real-world Application” training model.
Currently, the school has 1,250 enrolled students. Each year, students are selected to spend a year studying in corresponding programs at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics. Over the past three years, nearly 100 students have been admitted to prestigious domestic and international universities, including Tianjin University and the University of Sydney. Students have consistently achieved outstanding results in competitions such as the “Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press Cup” and the “Challenge Cup.” Graduates are employed across renowned enterprises including Lenovo, the Bank of China, and KPMG, as well as government agencies such as customs and tax authorities, offering broad career prospects.
