I. Overview of the School

^{The School currently offers five undergraduate majors: Russian, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. In 2026, it was approved to add a new major in Italian.}

^{The School has atotal of 66 faculty and staff members, including 61 full-time and part-time instructors (among whom 7 are foreign experts). The faculty includes 9 professors and 8 associate professors (with senior-level faculty accounting for 28% of the total), 19 faculty members holding doctoral degrees (32%), and 42 holding master’s degrees (including 15 currently pursuing doctoral degrees); all have experience studying or working abroad. The School currently offers five undergraduate programs in Russian, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese, with over 500 students enrolled. In 2026, the School obtained official approval to establish a new major (ItalianLanguage) and will begin recruiting students for this program.}

^{The School actively organizes diverse and distinctive academic competitions and extracurricular activities—such as speech contests, dubbing competitions, European theater festivals, debate contests, interviews with foreign instructors, and Model United Nations conferences—to enhance students’ comprehensive qualities and practical skills. Students from all majors actively participate in various off-campus academic competitions at all levels and have consistently achieved outstanding results.}

^{In terms of international exchange and cooperation, the School of Western Languages and Culture maintains extensive international andinter-university connections, fostering strong partnerships with universities such as the Universidad Pública de Navarrain Spain, the Universidad de Celaya in Mexico, the Universitéde Saint-Étienne in France, the Internationale Hochschule SDIMünchen in Germany, and the Российскийгосударственныйпедагогическийуниверситетимени А.И.Герценаin Russia. Additionally, the School is actively negotiating partnerships with universities in Portugal, Brazil, and the Macao Special Administrative Region.}

^{Furthermore, the School has established internship and practical training bases in collaboration with multiple enterprises, including ChinaInternational Travel Service (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., Nanyue King Museum, Guangzhou Tinghui Trading Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Suyou Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., to better cultivate students’practical skills as well as their entrepreneurial and innovative abilities.}
