I. Chinese Language Program


This is a non-degree Chinese language program open to international students worldwide who are passionate about the Chinese language and wish to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and the development of Chinese-style modernization. Students are placed in classes based on their proficiency levels, enabling them to systematically improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a short period oftime. Through extra curricular activities such as cultural immersion experiences and visits to companies in the Greater Bay Area, students will also have the opportunity to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture.

Strong interest in learning Chinese; applicants with or without prior knowledge of Chinese are welcome to apply

1. Language Courses


 16 class hours/week    

   Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese listening and speaking, Chinese reading and writing, and HSK preparation; classes are organized by proficiency level



2.Practical activities such as Chinese cultural experiences and visits to companies in the Greater Bay Area





 4 class hours/week   



   Lectures on Chinese culture, calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, tea ceremony, Chinese cuisine preparation, visits to Lingnan cultural sites, and company tours, etc.





3. Elective Courses




2 - 4 class hours/week  



   Students may choose from a variety of major-specific and general education courses offered by our university (subject to course availability)

Beginner Class

For absolute beginners or those with basic Chinese proficiency

  Pinyin, basic Chinese characters,everyday conversation, basic listening and reading, HSK Levels 1–2 preparation

Intermediate Class

For students with beginner-level Chinese proficiency

 (approximately HSK Level 3)  

   Intermediate listening, speaking, reading, and writing, intensive grammar, topic discussions, introduction to Chinese writing, Business Chinese, HSK Levels 3–4 preparation

Advanced Class  

For students with intermediate Chinese proficiency

 (approximately HSK Level 4 or higher)    

  Advanced speaking and writing,  overview of China, Chinese in the media, basics of academic Chinese, business Chinese, HSK Levels 5–6 preparation


Note: If enrollment is insufficient, classes of similar levels may be combined. Specific arrangements will be announced prior to the start of the term.



Certificate of Completion


Students who successfully complete this program will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by the International College of SCBC.

Notes:

1. The standard tuition fee is 13,000 RMB per semester (our school offers a 8,000 RMB per semester freshman scholarship to all newly admitted students, which can be directly applied toward tuition).

2. Room assignments are based on the order of application and availability; we cannot guarantee your first-choice room type.



V. Application Materials



1. A fully completed "Application Form for International Students" (Download link:

2. A scanned copy of the personal information page of your valid passort (the passport must remain valid for the duration of your stay in China)

3. Digital passport photo (taken within the last 6 months, in color, JPG/JPEG/PNG format, minimum dimensions 295*413 pixels, maximum 200 KB)

4. Academic documents: Official transcripts from institutions in your home country (if the original is not in English or Chinese, a certified English or Chinese translation must be provided)

5. Scanned copy of the medical examination record for foreign nationals (issued by a medical institution designated by the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your home country)

6. Certificate of No Criminal Record (issued by the local public security authorities)


VI. Application Process


1. Submit Application: Send electronic copies of all application materials to international@gwng.edu.cn

2. The university reviews the applicant's materials

3. Upon approval, an online interview will be conducted

4. Pay the application fee after passing the interview

5. Receive the admission letter (Students enrolled in programs lasting 6 monthes or less will also receive a DQ form for processing an X2 visa)

6. Apply for a visa to China (see the visa instructions below for details)

7. Report on time and pay tuition fees during the first week of the semester



Visa Information


- For study periods of 6 months or less: Apply for an X2 visa (the school will provide a DQ form and an admission letter)


- For study periods longer than 6 months: Apply for an X1 visa (the school will provide a JW202 form and an admission letter)


- Students holding tourist visas are not eligible for enrollment registration



Airport Pickup Service 


Students who submit and confirm their flight information in advance by the specified date are eligible for a free airport pickup service.




VII. Scholarships


Outstanding students may receive up to 50% of their tuition as an academic scholarship.
