The School of Education offers three undergraduate majors: Preschool Education (Teacher-training), Primary Education (Chinese/English Tracks, Teacher-training) and Applied Psychology. It consists of three departments, namely the Department of Preschool Education, the Department of Primary Education, the Department of Applied Psychology, as well as the Art Education Teaching & Research Section. To boost the high-quality development of educational disciplines, the university has appointed renowned education expert Professor Feng Zengjun as the Honorary Dean and leading academic of the School of Education.
The school boasts 50 full-time faculty members with interdisciplinary academic backgrounds covering pedagogy, psychology, foreign languages and literature, and art studies. Among the faculty, 7 are professors (16%) and 4 are associate professors (9%); 24 are dual-qualified teachers, accounting for 48% of total staff, and 21 hold doctoral degrees (42%). All teachers have obtained master’s degrees or above, and 17 teachers (34%) have overseas study experience. In addition, more than 20 distinguished experts and scholars from home and abroad have been invited as visiting professors.
Currently, the school has around 1,500 enrolled full-time undergraduates. Six cohorts of graduates have completed their studies with an annual graduation rate exceeding 95%. The school has cultivated a large number of high-quality application-oriented talents for social development.

Upholding the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the School of Education develops outstanding teachers and application-oriented psychology professionals with noble ethics, solid expertise, strong foreign language proficiency and outstanding practical capabilities. Rooted in Guangdong Province, it targets nationwide talent cultivation while keeping pace with international educational standards.
Prioritizing international development, the school actively promotes overseas cooperation and academic exchanges. It has launched the "3+1+1" undergraduate-postgraduate joint training program with Harding University of the United States. Experts from Hong Kong, Macao, the US and other regions are regularly invited to deliver lectures and conduct joint research, creating abundant opportunities for faculty and students to pursue overseas exchanges, visiting studies and further education to broaden global vision and international competitiveness.
Adhering to the cultivation philosophy of Solid Major, Excellent Foreign Language, Strong Practical Competence, the school implements an interdisciplinary training model of "Major plus Foreign Language".
The school has hosted high-level academic events including the 9th Forum on Education and China’s Future, seven sessions of the South China Education Forum, two Preschool Teacher Training Seminars and the International Seminar on Comprehensive English Teaching. Well-known scholars from Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, South China Normal University and other prestigious universities are regularly invited for academic lectures, forming athriving academic atmosphere.

The school keeps deepening teaching reform and has secured 30 provincial social science projects, provincial philosophy & social science planning projects and university-level teaching quality improvement projects covering practical training base construction, curriculum ideology and politics, industry-education integration and AI-based teaching. To date, faculty have published 117 academic papers, including 3 SSCI-indexed articles, 6 SCIE-indexed papers and 5 core journal papers listed in Peking University Core Journal Catalogue.
The school hosts the Annual Teacher Education Culture Festival and various competitions such as Normal Student Professional Skills Contest, English Public Speaking Contest and Academic Thesis Investigation Contest. Over 100 students have won awards at provincial-level competitions including Guangdong Normal Student Skills Competition, Guangdong Primary & Secondary School Micro-lesson Competition and the "Challenge Cup" Extra curricular Academic Science and Technology Competition. The school is equipped with 7 micro-teaching classrooms, 1 Orff music classroom and 1 sand-tray psychological training room to support hands-on learning.
The school provide systematic postgraduate entrance exam and overseas study counseling for students. Up to now, over 50 alumni have pursued master’s degrees at well-known domestic and overseas universities, including Central China Normal University, Northeast Normal University, Hunan Normal University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou University, as well as the University of Queensland, the University of Melbourne and The Education University of Hong Kong.
The school devotes itself to local educational development. It carries out free "Comprehensive Intelligent English" tutoring programs with Panlong Primary School, Liangtian No.2 Primary School, Taihe No.1 Primary School, Liangtianyou Primary School and Liangtian No.1 Kindergarten, benefiting over 30,000 participants. It launches intangible cultural heritage picture-book educational activities themed on Ethnic Diversity at Guangzhou Library and Baiyun District Library, and guides Lianhuabei Kindergarten in Shenzhen to develop its featured in-house curriculum. Led by the Wisdom Star Team, the school delivers regular educational support for preschool kids in surrounding communities.
Moreover, in partnership with Baiyun Hengfu Social Organization, the school participates in rural revitalization, left-behind children care, family education tutoring and psychological counseling projects at Baiyun Supply & Marketing Culture Exhibition Hall and Kangyuan Volunteer Program, providing intellectual support for the modernization of local education.
