SCBC Holds Opening Ceremony for All 2026 Freshmen

On September 14, SCBC held the opening ceremony for all 2026 freshmen in the gymnasium. A total of 3,920 freshmen attended the event in two groups. University leaders, heads of administrative departments, and deans of the schools attended the ceremony to welcome the new students to campus.

Acting President Chen Linhan delivered “The First Lecture of University” to incoming freshmen. He noted that society and industries arecurrently changing rapidly, and artificial intelligence is influencing both learning and work. Artificial intelligence can help students search for materials, organize information, and improve learning efficiency, but it cannot replace independent thinking, value judgments, and personal responsibility. He urged students to use smart tools appropriately, actively verify information, and not to simply accept ready-made answers. ChenLinhan encouraged students to build a solid foundation in their major while also exploring knowledge in other fields, and to enhance their skills in foreign languages, communication, data analysis, and problem-solving. He also encouraged students to actively participate in practical training, academic competitions, and social practice activities, applying classroom knowledge to real-world problems, gaining experience through action, and continuously refining their ideas.

SCBC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with UTAR

Recently, SCBC formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia, marking the official launch of cooperation between the two universities.

In late June of this year, a delegation from UTAR visited SCBC, and the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on student exchange programs. During the summer, relevant officials from our university paid a return visit to UTAR, where they held in-depth discussions ontopics such as “2+2” joint degree programs, student exchanges, and academic collaboration, further solidifying the foundation for cooperation.

This signing lays the groundwork for student exchanges, joint degree programs, and academic collaboration between the two universities. The student exchange agreement is currently being finalized, with both parties planning to offer a set number of tuition-free exchange spots each academic year. This represents a significant step forward for our university in expanding its network of partnerships with Malaysian universities and advancing international exchange and talent development.
