Dr.Weng Lin Delivers Academic Presentation at the National Annual Conference on Educational Anthropology
Recently, the 12th National Annual Conference on Educational Anthropology was held at Hangzhou Normal University. Dr. Weng Lin, Associate Dean of the School of Education at SCBC, attended the conference and was invited to serve as a discussant for Sub-forum 4, titled “Children and Social Mobility: Cultural Adaptation and Identity Construction in Different Social Contexts.” During the session, Dr. Weng Lin drew upon her own research expertise to discuss with fellow scholars the pathways of children’s cultural adaptation and corresponding educational strategies across different social contexts. She also delivered a keynote academic presentation titled “How Does Space Support Education? Conceptual Interplay and Insights in Japanese Kindergarten Design,” which garnered significant attention and sparked lively discussion among the attending experts and scholars.

Under the theme “The Construction of Children’s world from an Anthropological Perspective,” this year’s National Annual Conference on Educational Anthropology brought together numerous experts and scholars from across the country in the fields of education, anthropology, and related disciplines engaging in in-depth dialogues and exchanges on core topics such as child development, cultural adaptation, and identity construction.
SCBC Holds the 4th Multilingual Chinese Culture Promotion Short Video Competition
On the afternoon of May 14, the finals of our university’s 4th Multilingual Chinese Culture Promotion Short Video Competition successfully concluded in Room F101. Under the theme “Telling the Story of ‘Made in China’,” the competition brought together 17 teams representing nine languages, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, and Thai, to compete on the same stage. Following on-site judging, the Portuguese-language entry “Portuguese Meets the Canton Fair” won the Grand Prize. Through multilingual short videos, SCBC students showcased the appeal of “Made in China” and traditional Chinese culture, telling China’s stories to the world in a youthful voice. This fully demonstrated our university’s multilingual strengths and the educational achievements of our cultural dissemination efforts.
SCBC President Professor Wang Hua Delivers Keynote Address at the Second Annual Conference of the Private Education Branch of China Business Accounting Institute
On May 16, SCBC President Professor Wang Hua attended the Second Annual Conference of the Private Education Branch of China Business Accounting Institute organized and hosted by the School of Accounting at Xijing University.
As Chair of the Private Education Branch of China Business Accounting Institute, President Wang Hua proposed in his opening remarks that the branch should explore innovative cooperation mechanisms for private universities, promote research on accounting issues in private universities, and advance the high-quality development of accounting programs. During the keynote session, President Wang Hua delivered a speech titled “Establishing a Theoretical Framework for Technology Accounting and Its Implications for the Reform of Applied Accounting Education.” Grounded in the context of the digital economy and the development of new-quality productive forces, the report proposed an original definition of the fundamental theory of accounting in the AI era. It constructed a foundational theoretical framework for technology-driven accounting based on adual dimension of technology and institutions, featuring a five-layer logical interconnection comprising “the oretical foundation, technological support, institutional safeguards, applied practice, and value objectives,” thereby filling a gap in the theoretical system of accounting within the context of digital and intelligent transformation. This achievement provides a practical pathway for accounting education reform at applied universities, helping to cultivate versatile accounting professionals suited to the new quality of productive forces. At the closing ceremony, SCBC President Wang Hua expressed his sincere gratitude to Xijing University for successfully hosting this annual conference and presented a commemorative plaque; he also announced that, following deliberation by the Society’s Standing Council, the 2027 annual conference will be hosted by SCBC.

This annual conference brought together deans of accounting schools, renowned scholars, and industry experts from more than 40 private universities across the country to engage in in-depth discussions on the transformation and innovation of accounting education at private universities in the context of digital and intelligent technologies.
SCBC Vice President Zeng Yongqiang Appointed to China Higher Education Training Center’s Special Expert Committee
On May 21, the “5th Working Meeting and Inaugural Session of the Specially Appointed Experts Committee” of the China Higher Education Training Center was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. SCBC Vice President Professor Zeng Yongqiang was appointed to serve on the Second Committee of Specially Appointed Experts of the center; he was invited to attend the meeting and received his letter of appointmenton-site.

SCBC Holds the 4th Joint Session of Faculty and Staff Congress & Trade Union Members' Congress
On the morning of May 22, the joint session of our university’s Fourth Faculty and Staff Congress and Trade Union Members’ Congress was successfully held in Room 309 of the Administration Building. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Fuchun, SCBC Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of SCBC Trade Union. In attendance were Huang Hancheng, Executive Vice Chair of SCBC Trade Union; members of SCBC Trade Union Committee; chairs of the trade unions from various departments; and relevant working staff to the agenda items.
This meeting focused on four key items for deliberation: first, the evaluation criteria for professional titles in the university’s teaching staff; second, the “Measures for the Management of Income and Expenditure of the Trade Union Funds of SCBC”; third, the“Regulations on the Use of Funds by the Secondary Trade Unions of SCBC”; and fourth, the plan for the “Celebrating Our 30th Anniversary and Enjoying a Colorful Children’s Day” parent-child activity.
Personnel in charge of each agenda item took turns presenting background information, keypoints, and implementation plans for their respective topics. Drawing on the university’s actual development context and the practical needs of faculty and staff, the delegates engaged in thorough discussions regarding the optimization of the professional title evaluation system, the standardized management of trade union funds, and the enhancement of cultural and recreational services for faculty and staff, putting forward targeted opinions and recommendations. After item-by-item deliberation and extensive communication, the delegates reached a consensus on all agenda items, and the entire assembly unanimously approved all proposals with around of enthusiastic applause.

SCBC Holds the Working Meeting of 2026 for Provincial and Ministerial-level Research Platforms
On the afternoon of May 21, our university held the working meeting of 2026 for provincial and ministerial-level research platforms in the International Conference Hall. President Wang Hua, Executive President Wang Mingyu, Executive President Zhang Hanlin, Vice President Wang Guanyi, and Assistant to the President Zhu Zijang attended the meeting. Newly appointed directors and deputy directors of the provincial and ministerial-level research platforms, as well as full-time researchers and full-time and part-time research secretaries, gathered to discuss major research initiatives.
At the start of the meeting, President Wang Hua announced the university’s appointment documents for the new directors and deputy directors of provincial and ministerial-level research platforms, and presented appointment certificates to the new directors and deputy directors.
Subsequently, the heads of each platform presented their 2026 research work plans in turn. The presentations focused on key elements such as refining research directions, recruiting and cultivating high-caliber teams, expanding academic exchanges, producing high-quality research outcomes, fostering high-level projects, and allocating research budgets arrangement, clearly outlining the annual development strategies and specific measures. The plans presented by each platform exhibited three distinct characteristics: first, a more focused direction, concentrating efforts on achieving breakthroughs in core areas; second, a clearer path forward, closely leveraging their respective strengths and emphasizing the cultivation of research outcomes; and third, more explicit goals, aligned with disciplinary development and implemented through visualized management mechanism.
In his concluding remarks, Vice President Wang Guanyi fully affirmed the foundational work and development plans of the various provincial and ministerial-level research platforms. From the perspective of serving national strategies, empowering the development of the Greater Bay Area, and supporting the university’s advancement, he put forward four specific requirements for the next phase of work on these research platforms: First, focus on major national strategic needs. Second, focus on the platforms’ core research areas. Third, focus on discipline development and the application for master’s degree programs. Fourth, integrate resources to promote interdisciplinary convergence.

SCBC Vice President Wang Guanyi Elected Standing Chairman of the National Collaborative Mechanism for Journalism and Communication Education at Private Universities
On May 23, 2026, the Forum of Deans of Journalism and Communication Schools at Private Universities and the Inaugural Meeting of the National Collaboration Mechanism for Journalism and Communication Education at Private Universities were held at Wuhan Donghu University. Professor Wang Guanyi, Vice President of SCBC; Professor Peng Zhubin, Dean of the School of Culture and Communication of SCBC; and Professor Zhou Wen, Chair of the Department of International Journalism and Communication of SCBC, were invited to attend. Wang Guanyi was elected Permanent Chairman of the National Collaboration Mechanism for Journalism and Communication Education at Private Universities, and Peng Zhubin was elected Co-Secretary-General. Under the theme “Upholding Integrity, Embracing Innovation, Pursuing Distinctive Development, and Empowering with Digital Intelligence,” the forum brought together expert representatives from over 60 private universities nationwide to discuss pathways for the transformation of journalism and communication education and measures for collaborative development. It was announced at the meeting that SCBC will host the Second National Forum of Deans of Journalism and Communication Schools at Private Universities, helping to establish an exchange platform for private universities to share educational resources, complement each other’s strengths, and achieve win-win cooperation in journalism and communication education.
