City University of MacaVisits SCBC
On the afternoon of March 19, a delegation from City University of Macau visited our university to engage in inter-institutional cooperation and exchange. The visit aimed to deepen practical cooperation between the two universities in areas such as talent cultivation, faculty development, and academic collaboration. Discussions focused on key topics including master’s program applications, summer study programs, and opportunities for faculty members to pursue doctoral studies and short-term academic visits.

SCBC Holds Scientific Work Planning Meeting
On the afternoon of March 19, SCBC held a meeting to outline academic research for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year in Academic Lecture Hall F101. The meeting comprehensively summarized the achievements of the university’s research work in 2025, systematically laid out the research agenda for 2026, and clarified the key tasks for academic research in the new semester. Executive President Wang Mingyu, Vice Presidents Wang Guanyi and Zeng Yongqiang attended the meeting. Also in attendance were heads of various research platforms and teams, heads of academic units and relevant administrative departments, and key faculty members engaged inresearch.
SCBC Leaders Invited to Attend the 10th NHLFHE
From March 20 to 22, the 10th National High-Level Forum on Reform and Development of Foreign Language Education in Higher Education (NHLFHE) was grandly held in Beijing. Professor Wang Mingyu, Executive President of SCBC and President of the Committee of Semiotics of the Association for Logic in China, and Professor Zeng Yongqiang, Vice Chair of the Foreign Language Teaching Advisory Committee for Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education were invited to attend the forum. They presided over sub-forum activities and delivered speeches, respectively. Chen Yulian, Vice Dean of the School of English Language and Culture, was also invited to attend.

SCBC Jointly Hosts Training Program with China Higher Education Training Center
On March 22, the training program on Industry-Education Integration and AI Curriculum Development, jointly organized by SCBC and China Higher Education Training Center, officially commenced in the International Academic Lecture Hall. Leaders from the China Association of Higher Education, China Higher Education Training Center, and other organizations attended to provide guidance. SCBC Chairman Ding Xiaojun, President Wang Hua, and other university leaders, and all participating faculty members—totaling over 260 people—attended the opening ceremony.

President Wang Hua delivered a welcome address at the opening ceremony. On behalf of SCBC, he expressed sincere gratitude to the leaders of China Higher Education Training Center for their long-standing care and support of the university’s development, and extended greetings to the participating faculty. He emphasized that SCBC has consistently focused on talent cultivation through industry-education integration. The curriculum of this training program not only covers interpretations of national policies and industry standards but also provides precise guidance on implementing practical outcomes, combining the oretical depth with targeted applicability. He encouraged the trainees to fully immerse themselves in the training, study advanced concepts and best practices, and transform their learning into teaching practices. He urged them to integrate AI-enabled innovations throughout the entire process of curriculum design, instructional delivery, and assessment reform, thereby helping SCBC advancing steadily along the path of high-quality development.

Following the opening ceremony, university and external leaders, along with heads of relevant administrative departments, moved to the International Conference Hall to convene a strategic symposium titled “Charting the Blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan: Leading High-Quality Development.” At the meeting, President Wang Hua reported on SCBC’s overall development. Vice President Zeng Yongqiang and Assistant to the President Yu Weibin delivered separate the matic reports on the university’s educational and teaching work, as well as faculty development. Sun Weijie, Supervisor of the China Association of Higher Education and Secretary of China Higher Education Training Center, along with Vice President Jiang Enlai and other distinguished guests, engaged in in-depth discussions on SCBC’s development strategy, offering professional guidance to chart the course for the university’s high-quality development.
Zhao Feng, Executive Director of China Higher Education Training Center, and other relevant officials attended the opening ceremony and strategic symposium. On the first day of the training, Professor Kong Linggui, a member of the Specially-invited Expert Committee of China Higher Education Training Center, and Professor Pei Shixin from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology delivered specialized lectures to all trainees. They shared professional insights on curriculum development pathways under the context of industry-education integration and practical explorations of AI-enabled curriculum development, respectively, providing cutting-edge ideas and practical guidance for the participants’ curriculum development efforts.
SCBC Students Win Multiple Awards at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area University Arts Festival
Recently, the list of winners for the 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area University Arts Festival organized by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province was announced. Under the theme “Colorful Greater Bay Area, Art Together Toward the Future,” the festival attracted enthusiastic participation from universities across the Greater Bay Area, with thousands of entries competing. SCBC’s faculty and students joined forces to submit 14 entries in the performing arts category and 15 in the visual arts category. Ultimately, they secured 14 awards (2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 10 third prizes), demonstrating the effectiveness of our university’s arts education and the artistic literacy of our students, while also presenting a significant gift to mark the university’s 30th anniversary.
