SCBC Faculty and Students Win Prize in the Rural Field Research
Recently, the Department of Education of Guangdong Province announced the results of the 2025 “National Financial Aid and Student Loan Policy Outreach Campaign (NFASLPOC)”. Faculty and students in SCBC achieved outstanding results. The Dongyang Team, jointly formed by the School of Eastern Languages and Culture and the International School of SCBC, was awarded the title of “Outstanding Practice Team.” The report titled “The Effectiveness of Promoting National Financial Aid Policies at the Grass Roots: Based on Field Research in Xinxing County, Yunfu City” (faculty advisors: Zeng Haiying, Kong Huixian), written by the Dongyang Team, and the report titled “Field Research on Chinese Student Loan Policies in Rural Areas: A Case Study of Suixi County, Zhanjiang City” (faculty advisor: Chen Xinjian), written by the “Smurfs” Volunteer Service Team from the School of Economics of SCBC, were both awarded the title of “Outstanding Research Report.” Two teachers, Huang Yanhong and Kong Huixian, were awarded the title of “Outstanding Advisor.” Two students, Li Wenshihui and Chen Junhao, were awarded the title of “Outstanding Practice Team Member.”
SCBC’s Chinese Archery Course Selected as Provincial Outstanding Case
Recently, the Department of Education of Guangdong Province announced a list of outstanding case studies for the promotion of distinctive traditional ethnic sports and intangible cultural heritage sports. The “Chinese Archery Course” case study submitted by Hong Kui, a teacher from SCBC’s Physical Education Department, stood out among entries from 19 prefectures and cities across the province as well as from universities within the province, and was successfully selected as a provincial-level outstanding case study.
Vice President Wang Guanyi Visits Guangzhou College of Commerce
To further optimize SCBC’s scientific research system and mechanisms and promote the high-quality development of its researchendeavors, Vice President Wang Guanyi led a delegation to Guangzhou College of Commerce (GCC) on March 13 for a research visit and exchange. The delegation comprised relevant officials from the Office of Scientific Research, the Office of Discipline Development, School of Management, School of Computer Science, and School of English Language and Culture. The delegation was warmly received by leaders of GCC, including Vice President Zou Xinyue, Director of the Scientific Research Office Bing Pingping, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Office Zhu Jianbo, and leaders from the School of Management, the School of Information Technology and Engineering, and the School of Foreign Languages. Both sides held in-depth discussionson topics including research innovation in higher education, the development of research systems and mechanisms, the classification and evaluation of research, high-level research projects, and the cultivation of research achievements.

Expert of Low-Altitude Economy Visits SCBC
To align more closely with the national strategy for the development of the low-altitude economy and to effectively advance the development and structural optimization of relevant academic disciplines and programs at SCBC, on the morning of March 16, we invited Researcher Huo Zhiqin, an expert in the field of the low-altitude economy, todeliver a special lecture titled “Analysis of Trends in the Low-Altitude Economy.” All members of the university leadership, deans and associate deans of various schools, and heads of relevant administrative departments attended the event.

Following the lecture, SCBC President Wang Hua delivered concluding remarks. He noted that Researcher Huo Zhiqin had thoroughly elucidated the significant value of high-density, autonomous low-altitude unmanned flight, providing attendees with a clearer understanding of the development trends and industry opportunities in the low-altitude economy. Furthermore, he offered concrete and professional guidance for the university’s program optimization and the development of related disciplines and majors, while also deepening our awareness of the new requirements and challenges facing education, teaching, and talent cultivation in the AI era. Wang Hua encouraged attendees to carefully review and assimilate the valuable insights from this lecture, transforming them into concrete strategies for advancing academic programs. He urged them to keep pace with trends in science, technology, and industrial development, proactively acquire cutting-edge knowledge, and further cultivate interdisciplinary talent that aligns with societal needs.
SCBC Holds New Semester Teaching Work Planning Meeting
On the afternoon of March 13, 2026, SCBC held its undergraduate teaching work planning meeting for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year in Conference Room C202. President Wang Hua, Vice President Zeng Yongqiang, relevant officials from the Center for Teaching Quality Supervision and Evaluation, heads of teaching affairs from each school (teaching department), and all staff members from the Office of Academic Affairs attended this meeting. Against the dual backdrop of SCBC’s 30th anniversary and the launch ofthe 15th Five-Year Plan, the meeting outlined key priorities for undergraduate teaching in the new semester. It reaffirmed the commitment to high-quality teaching development as the core objective and clarified the goal of cultivating high-quality, application-oriented talent capable of adapting to societal development.

SCBC Students Win Second Prize at the “2025 BRICS Competition”
Recently, students from the School of Computer Science of SCBC brought good news from the “2025 Belt and Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technological Innovation 1st International Finals: AI Large Model Analysis, Application, Security, Operations and Maintenance.” Leveraging their solid professional skills and outstanding teamwork, SCBC students stood out among 105 undergraduate teams and ultimately secured second place in the international finals (national competition) with an impressive 20th-place finish.
SCBC Wins 18 Awards at the Higher Education Design Exhibition
Recently, the list of winners for the 8th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area School Design Exhibition and the 10th Guangdong Provincial Higher Education Design Biennial, organized by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, was officially announced. SCBC’s faculty and students performed exceptionally well, submitting a total of 31 entries for evaluation and ultimately winning 18 awards, including 1 Second Prize and 16 Third Prizes. Professor Huang Qingmei was honored with the “Best Mentor Award.”
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area School Design Exhibition and Guangdong Provincial University Design Works Biennial are among the most influential competitions in the field of university design within the province, showcasing the latest achievements in university design education. Our university’s award-winning works span two categories: Visual Communication Design and Digital Media Art. The themes focus on hot topics such as Lingnan culture, the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, and social welfare, embodying adistinct “SCBC Spirit.”

Recently, the academic monograph Studyon the High-Quality Development of China’s Publishing Industry, led by Professor Wang Guanyi, Vice President of SCBC, was officially published by People’s Publishing House and featured in reports by the People’s Daily and Xinhua News Agency.
