City University of Macau Visits SCBC
On January 9, a delegation led by Vice President Ye Guiping of City University of Macau visited SCBC. Vice President of SCBC, Professor Chen Linhan, and heads of relevant departments welcomed the guests. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as graduate school admissions, faculty development, and academic collaboration, and reached consensus on several areas of cooperation.

Haihua College, Liaoning Normal University Visits SCBC
On the morning of January 9, a delegation led by Zhang Meng, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of Haihua College, Liaoning Normal University, visited SCBC. The two sides held an exchange meeting on topics including student affairs, admissions and employment, discipline development, and inter-university cooperation. Zhao Fuchun, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of SCBC, and Lai Zhili, Board Director and Vice President of SCBC, received the guests. Heads of relevant departments such as the Student Affairs Office, Admissions and Career Guidance Office, and Academic Affairs Office, as well as representatives from secondary schools including the School of Management, School of Culture and Communication, School of Computer Science, and School of Art, jointly attended the meeting.

SCBC Signs Agreementwith PROMS
On January 10, SCBC held a signing ceremony with the Pacific Rim Objective Measurement Symposium (PROMS) in Conference Room 309 to formalize the agreement for hosting the 2026 international conference, marking our university’s official acquisition of the hosting rights for the PROMS 2026 International Conference. Representatives from both sides attended the signing ceremony, including Professor Yan Zi, President of The Education University of Hong Kong; Professor Zhang Quan, PROMS representative for Mainland China; and Professor Wang Mingyu, Vice President of SCBC, along with Lai Zhilin, Vice president of SCBC. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Xiao Jianfang, Vice Dean of the School of Education of SCBC. This event signifies that our university has officially secured the hosting rights for this internationally authoritative conference on educational assessment, which will significantly promote innovative development in the field of educational assessment.

SCBC Has a New Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center
In January 2026, the “Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center of Ubiquitous Manufacturing Augment,” jointly proposed by SCBC’s Institute of Digitization Science and Technology and Guangzhou Santuo Recognition Technology Co., Ltd., was officially recognized as a “Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center” following a rigorous review by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province.
President Wang Hua Leads Delegation to Investigate New Project
On February 4, a delegation led by President Wang Hua, including Vice President Lai Zhil, Su Wujun, Dean of the School of Management and the School of Economics, Kuang Mo, Researcher at Research Center for Collaborative Innovation in Airport Economy of SCBC and Luo Huiming, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, visited Beidou Fuxi Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Tianfu College of Southwest University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu. The visit aimed to comprehensively explore applications of the low-altitude Internet of Things and pathways for collaborative education between universities and enterprises, providing cutting-edge insights for the development of SCBC’s low-altitude economy discipline and talent cultivation.


Researcher Luo Ying Visits Norway to Discuss Polar Issues
From January 30 to February 8, 2026, the 11th CNAR symposium was successfully held in Norway. Luo Ying, a researcher at our university’s Center of Polar Issues Studies, was invited to attend the event on behalf of SCBC. During the forum, Luo delivered an insightful presentation on the key topic of “Green Shipping in the Arctic,” showcasing our university’s latest achievements and insights in the field of polar research.
Vice President Wang Guanyi is Elected as Vice Director of ECCATS
Recently, Vice President of SCBC, Professor Wang Guanyi, was elected as Vice Director of the Expert Committee for China Association of Trade in Services (Expert Committee, CATIS), following a review and selection process by the committee with a term running through November 2027. This election not only represents the industry’s high recognition of Professor Wang Guanyi’s academic leadership but also provides a broader national-level academic platform for our university’s Research Center of International Economic and Trade Rules.
Special Gift for Female Faculty of SCBC on International Women’s Day
Onthe morning of March 5, over 5,000 kg of polished rice, produced by SCBC’s green ecological base, were processed and made their “triumphant return” to the university. More than 400 kg were supplied to the university cafeteria, while the remainder was distributed to all 739 female faculty members as a special gift for International Women’s Day, spreading the sweetness of labor and festive blessings throughout SCBC.
