181 Outstanding Faculty and Staff are Commended on Teacher’s Day


On the afternoon of September 10, to mark the 41st Teachers’ Day, our university held a commendation ceremony in the gymnasium. A total of 181 outstanding faculty and staff were honored this year, including 106 recognized as “2024 Outstanding Staff Members” and 75 as “2024 Excellent Teachers.” University leaders attended the ceremony and presented awards to the recipients. Following the awards ceremony, the appointment ceremony for recipients of Senior Professional Titles was held. President Wang Hua and vice president Wang Mingyu issued the professor certificates and associate professor certificates respectively.

President Wang Hua emphasized the theme of this year’s Teachers’ Day in the subsequent speech—"Guided by the Spirit of Educators: Empowering Teaching Excellence and Advancing Efforts toward Building a Strong Education Nation"—and shared three expectations to all the teachers: first, to constantly enhancing their professional integrity and conduct; second, to dedicate their efforts to educating students with love; third, to strengthen their foundations and enhance the capabilities of future teacherHe encouraged all faculty to strive together to promote the high-quality development of our university.

During Teachers’  Day, the campus was filled with a warm atmosphere of gratitude. Students spontaneously sent gifts of fragrant flowers, throat lozenges, and handwritten cards to their teachers. Various schools also presented flowers to faculty membersconveying deep appreciation and respect. The University Committee of CYLC specially prepared exquisite holiday cakes, offering a sweet surprise for the teachers.

458 New Dorm Rooms Welcome Freshmen! University Leaders Inspect “New Homes” on Orientation Day

Registration for the incoming class of 2025 began on September 13 in an orderly manner, with 458 newly renovated dorm rooms welcoming their first residents. On September 14, to better understand the freshmen’s accommodation experience and extend the university’s care and support, President Wang Hua, Party Secretary Xu Zhichao, and other leaders divided into groups to visit dormitory areas, especially the newly constructed Dormitory Building 11 and 12. They warmly greeted the freshmen, learned about their check-in experience, and shared the latest developments and achievements of the university.

With the continuous expansion of the university, the student populationhas reached 14,000 this year. To comprehensively improve accommodation conditions, the university completed the construction of Dormitory Building 11 and 12 to high standards during the summer, both of which have now been officially put into use. Designed for six-person rooms, the two buildings contain a total of 458 new dorm rooms and 2,748 beds. Each new room is equipped with air conditioners, electronic fans, washing machines, desks, and cabinets, creating a comfortable and convenient living environment for students.

Visiting freshmen dormitories is a traditional part of the university’s orientation activities, aimed at understanding students’ needs, enhancing their sense of belonging and well-being, and laying a solid foundation for a smooth start to their university life.
