SCBC Girl Wins First Prize at National Spanish Speech Contest
On November 7, the Concurso Nacional de Oratoria - "la Estrella de Espanol" 2025 concluded successfully at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). Co-hosted by the Real Academia Española (RAE) and SISU, the contest centered on the theme of “Empowering Intelligent Technology Through Language and Guiding Technological Development Through Humanities.” It aimed to identify young Spanish talents of the new era possessing an international perspective, patriotic spirit, and humanistic literacy. Liu Yuguo, a student from Spanish major of SCBC, advanced to the national finals after intense competitions and won the first prize with her profound critical thinking in the prepared speech and outstanding performance in the impromptu commentary.

Delegation from GDAPE Visit SCBC
On the afternoon of November 11, Zhao Kang, President of the Guangdong Association for Private Education (GDAPE), and Zhu Zusheng, Secretary-General, along with their delegation, visited SCBC. President Wang Hua, along with heads of relevant functional departments, attended the research meeting.

President Wang Hua delivered a comprehensive report covering three dimensions: institutional operations, distinctive development features, and future planning. He uccinctly encapsulated SCBC’s developmental essence with the phrase: “Established through business majors, flourishing through foreign languages majors, strengthened through integration, renowned for quality and well-knowed for beauty.” He highlighted significant achievements in key areas including program development, talent cultivation, and research platform construction. Emphasizing SCBC’s steady progress toward its vision of becoming a “high-level foreign language university with distinctive international characteristics,” President Wang reaffirmed the university’s commitment to cultivating more high-quality, versatile talents for societal development.
Vice President Zeng Yongqiang reported on SCBC's achievements in industry-education integration. As an applied undergraduate institution, SCBC focuses on core talent development needs by establishing an integrated model of “school of industry +practical internship bases + micro-majors.” This approach deepens school-enterprise collaboration, yielding notable results in enhancing talent cultivation quality, innovating curriculum development, and building dual-qualified faculty. He also shared practical explorations in establishing the school-enterprise interest community to promote sustainable industry-education integration.
During the discussion session, both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on hot topics in private education development and the opportunities and challenges faced by SCBC in its development.
In his concluding remarks, Zhao Kang highly commended SCBC's efforts incultivating composite foreign language talents. He noted that our talent development model, closely aligned with national strategies and the Belt and Road Initiative while leveraging the university’s unique strengths, precisely addresses the urgent demand forcomprehensive talents in economic and social development. SCBC Hosts the 29th Sports Meet
On November13-14, SCBC held the 29th Sports Meeting. Spanning two days, the event featured multiple competitions including track and field events and group fun competitions. The student division comprised 12 men's track events, 12 women's track events, and 5 group fun events, while the faculty division included 10 fun competition events. A total of 1,636 athletes competed for honors and showcased their skills on the field.
The School of Management successfully defended its title as the student group champion with a total score of 338, while the School of Culture and Communication and the School of Education placed second and third, respectively. The competition featured outstanding athletic performances, with athletes such as Chen Minfeng, Liu Yuguo, and Cao Huisi setting new school records and demonstrating exceptional athletic prowess.


SCBC Teams Win Honors at the 8th SNICC
On November 14, the list ofwinners for the Guangdong regional contest of the 8th “SFLEP Cup” National College Students’ Intercultural Competency Contest (SNICC) was announced. Three student teams selected by the Department of College English Teaching of SCBC stood out among numerous competitors through their solid intercultural literacy, seamless teamwork, outstanding intercultural narrative skills, and creative expression. They collectively won one first prize, one second prize, and one third prize across two competition categories.
Related Officials Visit 15th National Games Volunteer Service Team of SCBC
On November 14, 2025, the men's under-18 volleyball competition at the Guangzhou venue of the 15th National Games entered its final phase. Inside the Guangzhou Gymnasium, the “Little Dolphins” volunteers from SCBC remained energetic and enthusiastic as they steadfastly held their posts. That afternoon and evening, Tang Hanghao, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, as well as Director of the 15th National Games Volleyball (U18/U20) Competition Committee; Duan Xi, Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and Head of the Volunteer Department of the Municipal Executive Committee; and Baiyun District Party Leadership Group Member, Vice Chairman of the Baiyun District People's Congress Standing Committee, Chairman of the Baiyun District Federation of Trade Unions, and Deputy Director of the 15th National Games Volleyball (U18.U20) Competition Committee, Yang Xiongzhong, and other leaders made a special visit to the venue to extend warm greetings to the event volunteers from SCBC.

Tang Hanghao instructed the volunteers to standardize their procedures for audience guidance and security measures, ensuring the entire service process remained safe and orderly. Duan Xi expressed heartfelt gratitude for the tireless efforts of the Southern “Little Dolphins” volunteers.

SCBC holds the 3rd Southern China Economic Forum
On November 15, the Third “Southern China Economic Forum”, hosted by SCBC and organized by the School of Economics with joint support from the China Rural Finance Research Association and Economic Science Press, convened at the International Conference Hall. Centered on the theme “Strengthening the Domestic Economic Cycle and Building Guangdong's New Development Pattern,” the forum attracted over 90 participants including university professors, research institute experts, corporate executives, industry association representatives, and graduate students. Together, they explored ways to enhance Guangdong's domestic economic cycle.

President Wang Hua delivered a welcome address on behalf of SCBC. He emphasized that the forum serves as a high-level platform for academia, government, and industry to address pressing contemporary issues. He then introduced SCBC's scale of operation, disciplinary characteristics, and research platform advantages, expressing his hope that the forum would spark intellectual exchanges to contribute to Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's development, and wishing the forum a complete success.

Five experts—Wang Chaocai, Executive Vice President of the China Rural Finance Research Association; Yu Haifeng, President of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics; Wang Guanyi, Vice President of SCBC; Xia Jiechang, former Vice President of National Academy of Economic Strategy CASS, President of Chinese Association of Market Development; and Peng Fangping from the School of Management at Sun Yat-sen University—successively shared their research findings centered on the core theme of the “domestic economic cycle.”
Specialized Forum: Strengthening the Domestic Circulation to Build Guangdong's New Development Pattern
In the afternoon, the forum transitioned to specialized sessions. Six guests conducted in-depth and targeted discussions on the sub-theme of "How to strengthen the domestic big cycle in building Guangdong's new development paradigm." They are Xu Hangmin, Director of the Research Institute of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance; Qi Ruifu, Professor at the School of Economics; Li Huanrong, President of the Guangdong Entrepreneurs Health Management Association and Director of the Teaching Quality Supervision and Evaluation Center at SCBC; Sun Botao, Director of the Administrative Affairs Center of the South China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources; Li Yue, Vice Dean of the School of Economics at SCBC; Wang Xianqing, Dean of the School of Applied Economics at Guangdong Baiyun University.
Paper Exchange: Sharing Findings and Sparking Ideas
Before the exchange began, the conference honored authors of outstanding papers—10 papers were selected from the 30 submissions, and award presenters conferred certificates upon the representatives. Following the awards ceremony, eight honored authors from different universities in Guangdong province, Xia Haixia, Li Shuyi, Zhou Yongguang, Fang Zekai, Dang Xue, Ou Jie, Wu Feng, and Deng Yongliang, took the stage to share core findings aligned with their research specializations. Their research closely aligned with Guangdong's economic development and domestic circulation needs, spanning multiple critical domains: industrial policy topics like enhancing resilience in Guangdong's foreign trade enterprises and fiscal support for the low-altitude economy; tech-economy analyses covering digital innovation and income inequality, as well as AI applicationsin finance; and studies on consumer and enterprise development dimensions such as unlocking Gen Z's consumption potential and data asset disclosure. These presentations, blending academic depth with practical relevance, drew widespread attention from the audience.
TJFSU Visits SCBC for Japanese Language Discipline Reform Discussion
On the afternoon of November 17, a delegation from the School of Japanese Studies at Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TJFSU), including Dean Xi Na, Vice Dean Zhao Dongqian, Deputy Party Secretary Jin Fuchun, and Counselor Ling Zhenqi, visited SCBC. They held a thematic seminar on Japanese language discipline reform with the leaders of School of Oriental Language and Culture of SCBC, including Dean Chi Shengnu, Secretary of the General Party Branch Xie Danping, Vice Deans Wu Li and Xu Jinghua, Director of the National First-Class Undergraduate Program(Japanese) Li Aiwen, and Department Head of Japanese Language Cao Meilan.

This exchange focused on innovating talent cultivation models, particularly providing targeted graduate school guidance for students at our university with postgraduate aspirations. It marks a new phase in the collaboration between the two institutions.
SCBC Student Team Wins the National Second Prize at NBPAC
On November 18, the results of the 2025 National College Students Blockchain Plus Application Competition (NBPAC) were announced. A team from the School of Computer Science of SCBC, comprising students Long Yujie, Zhang Yuhuang, Wang Fuxing, Lin Peiyang, and Zhao Leyi, advised by Du Lanqing and Zheng Jinjing), emerged victorious in the Blockchain Technology—Application Design and Development category. Their project, “Blockchain-Based Intelligent Identification and Trusted Transaction Platform for Agricultural Plant Diseases,” stood out among 2,840 entries nationwide after intense competition, securing the national second prize.
SCBC Participates OCSC International Education Fair in Thailand
From November 14 to 17, an SCBC delegation traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, to participate in the “OCSC International Education Fair” hosted by the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC), Thailand. This marked SCBC’s inaugural appearance at an overseas international education exhibition.

SCBC’s booth in Bangkok attracted widespread attention from Thai students visiting the expo. Many students expressed strong interest and a keen desire to study and exchange at SCBC. Delegation members patiently and thoroughly addressed inquiries from prospective students regarding distinctive educational features, academic strengths, and language support services. Based on individual academic backgrounds and interests, they provided on-site guidance for study planning, offering personalized course selection and academic advancement advice for those considering studying in China. Delegation members also took the opportunity to engage with representatives from other participating universities and educational institutions.
Participating in this international education fair not only showcased the distinctive educational features of SCBC to global institutions but also created valuable opportunities for targeted recruitment. It provided concrete and beneficial experience in international student outreach and exploring diverse collaborative partnerships.
MTC Exchange Students Shares Gains in SCBC
On the afternoon of November 20, SCBC hosted a seminar for the first cohort of exchange students from Mianyang Teacher’s College (MTC) in Room 406 of the Administration Building. Vice President Lai Zhili, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Wang Liming, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Cai Haiyun, Deputy Director of Logistics Management Fan Tao, along with other department heads, Academic Affairs Section Chief Dai Zhongyuan,and Deputy Section Chief Feng Chunyan engaged in a cordial exchange with four exchange students from MTC. They gained an in-depth understanding of the students' academic and campus life over the past semester and listened to their valuable feedback.

HUF Delegation Visits SCBC
On November 20, a delegation led by Tuo Li, Vice President of Hei longjiang University of Finance and Economics (HUF), visited SCBC. Both partiesheld a specialized seminar focusing on emerging program development, particularly in the field of low-altitude economy. The meeting was chaired by Wang Guanyi, Vice President of SCBC, with attendance by Zhao Fuchun, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President. Relevant heads from the School of Economics, School of Management, and School of Computer Science participated in the session.

At the seminar, Zhao Fuchun extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an overview of SCBC’s educational profile and development strategy. He emphasized that in response to new opportunities arising from the accelerated growth of national strategic emerging industries, SCBC is actively developing interdisciplinary programs, pioneering exploration in cutting-edge fields like the low-altitude economy, and striving to establish are gionally influential hub for applied talent cultivation. Vice President Tuo Li briefly reviewed HUF's development journey and introduced the delegation's visiting members and purpose of the visit.
In subsequent exchanges, both sides agreed that their respective strengths in economics, management and information disciplines complement each other. They plan to further enhance resource sharing, joint course development, and collaborative research in emerging fields such as the low-altitude economy and digital economy.

SCBC Signs Talent Cultivation Agreement with DUFL
On the afternoon of November 20, a six-member delegation from Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL), led by Party Secretary Wang Weichen and Vice President Liu Fengguang, visited SCBC. Both sides officially signed a talent cultivation cooperation agreement. This brings the total number of SCBC's partner institutions to seven, marking the first expansion of our cooperative network into Northeast China. President Wang Hua, Party Secretary Xu Zhichao, Vice President Zeng Yongqiang, and heads of relevant functional departments attended the signing ceremony to witness this significant milestone. Vice President Zeng Yongqiang presided over the meeting.
President Wang Hua extended a warm welcome to the delegation from DUFL. He systematically introduced SCBC’s explorations and practical experiences distinctive approaches to talent development, educational characteristics and developmental achievements, based on the educational philosophy of "Established by business studies, Flourished due to foreign languages, Strengthened through integration, Renowned for quality, and Known for its beauty".
Secretary Wang Weichen expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and highly commended our SCBC's educational accomplishments. He noted that both institutions share a strong alignment in educational philosophy and disciplinary structure, offering broad prospects for collaboration. He stated that the signing represents a significant step toward deepening practical cooperation between the two universities. DUFL will diligently implement the agreement, actively support and properly arrange exchange programs for students selected by SCBC, and provide comprehensive academic and living support. He expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to promote the in-depth and practical development of cooperation between the two institutions, continuously yielding tangible results.
During the discussion session, both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including the work of Party Building, talent cultivation, micro-specialization development, faculty team building, internationalization, and the 15th Five-Year Development Plan. They shared experiences and practices while jointly exploring pathways for future development.
Following the talks, both parties signed a five-year talent cultivation cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, DUFL will host outstanding students from SCBC for exchange programs each academic year from 2026 to 2031.

Chairman Ding Xiaojun Visits Vietnamese Universities
To further advance SCBC's internationalization process and expand cooperation channels with institutions along the Belt and Road, Chairman Ding Xiaojun recently led a delegation to visit several universities in Vietnam. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, faculty-student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration. Visits were made to partner institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, promoting higher-level, broader-scope practical cooperation between SCBC and Vietnamese higher education institutions.
On the morning of November 19, the delegation first visited the University of Economics and Finance (UEF) in Ho Chi Minh City. UEF Chairman Mr. Kyo Haruyuki, Vice President Dr. Du Huu Nguyen Luc, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Vice Dean of the International Language and Culture College and Head of the Chinese Language Department, attended the meeting and extended a warm welcome to our delegation.

During the talks, both parties introduced their respective institutional positioning, disciplinary strengths, and international development initiatives. They engaged in substantive discussions on multi-tiered and diversified cooperative projects. Exchanges also covered student exchange programs, faculty visits, and research collaboration.
UEF expressed its welcome for our students to pursue advanced studies, to participate in short-term exchanges, and to engage in multicultural experiences at their institution. Our delegation shared SCBC's plans and preparatory progress for launching a Vietnamese language training program, aiming to deepen cultural exchanges and academic collaboration between the two universities.
Chairman Ding Xiaojun noted that since the formal signing of the cooperation agreement this year, two students from UEF have enrolled at SCBC. They are primarily taking Chinese language courses and foundational major courses while actively participating in campus cultural activities and student clubs. Both universities maintain regular communication regarding curriculum arrangements, academic guidance, and student services to create an optimal learning and living experience for students. Looking forward in the future, both sides will continue to build upon student exchanges as a foundation, further expanding collaborative development in areas such as faculty mutual visits, research cooperation, and joint training programs.

On the morning of November 21, the delegation visited Foreign Trade University (FTU) in Hanoi. During the meeting, both sides reviewed previous communications and exchanged views on advancing cooperation between the two institutions.
This Vietnam visit represents a key initiative in SCBC's ongoing efforts to promote international cooperation and exchange while strengthening ties with leading regional universities. Through visits to UEF and FTU, SCBC has further solidified the foundation for cooperation with Vietnamese universities and expanded collaborative opportunities in talent development, academic research, and cultural exchange.
SCBC Hosts Academic Conference on Digital Development in the Service Sector
On November 22, SCBC held an academic conference themed “Digital Intelligence Empowerment and Industry-Education Synergy: Leading Management Innovation and High-Quality Talent Cultivation in the Service Industry” in the International Conference Hall of the Multilingual Building. The conference was jointly organized by the Guangdong Provincial Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences in Higher Education Institutions, Research Base for the Digitalization and Innovative Management of Guangdong Service Industry, the provincial-level scientific research innovation team “Research Team on Digital-Physical Economy Integration and Management Innovation,” and the School of Management of SCBC. It was co-hosted by the University Social Sciences Association and the Southern Economic Research Institute. Experts and scholars from government departments, industry associations, enterprises, and universities gathered together to exchange insights and discuss topics including digital transformation in the service industry, management innovation, and talent cultivation.
In his opening remarks, SCBC President Wang Hua emphasized that SCBC remains committed to serving national opening-up and regional development, focusing on talent cultivation and industry-education integration. The new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation demands higher-quality development of the service industry, necessitating coordinated advancement through education, technology, and talent. This forum establishes a platform formulti-stakeholder exchange, effectively promoting digital technology-enabled management innovation in the service sector and supporting the implementation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area strategy and the 15th Five-Year Plan. In his address, Lei Chun, Chairman of the Southern Economic Research Institute, emphasized that deepening the integration of digital technology with the real economy and fostering coordinated development across education, technology, and talent are crucial for achieving high-quality development goals. The Southern Economic Research Institute will leverage its resources to continue contributing to the digital transformation of the service industry and talent cultivation.
SCBC Upgrades Cooperation Program with Two Famous Australian Universities
On the afternoon of November 22, a joint delegation led by Professor Li Rongyu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of The University of Queensland (UQ), and Professor Liu Mian, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), visited SCBC. The three parties held a meeting to discuss deepening collaboration on the “2+2” program. The talks focused on core issues such as faculty and student exchanges and curriculum alignment, resulting in multiple areas of consensus. SCBC Vice Presidents Chen Linhang and Lai Zhili, along with relevant officials from the Center for International Cooperationand Exchange, participated in the exchange activities.
At the meeting, Vice President Chen Linhan extended a warm welcome tothe representatives from UQ and UTS on behalf of SCBC. Vice President Lai Zhili introduced SCBC's educational overview and development strategy to the guests. SCBC Students win Prizes in the 2025 ESG Innovation Business Competition
On November 22, the highly anticipated Guangdong Provincial Finals of the 2025 ESG Innovation Business Competition concluded successfully. A joint team representing the School of Management and International College won the Provincial Special Award. Team members were Huang Zhengyi and Chen Rouhui (Advised by: Chen Min, Li Yanqin) of accounting major, School of Management, and Liu Siyuan and Li Jiayue of international accounting major, Internationa College. Another team also from the School of Management won the Provincial Second Prize. Its members were Zheng Yuhan, Liang Rushan, Zhou Ziting, and Mai Zhaochun with advisors Li Yanqin and Chen Min.
