KungZe said to his community : "Once a teacher, forever a teacher!" and I think in South China Business College we can find the same atmosphere of tranquillity than in QuFu where he was discussing with students and philosophers, sitting in a stone garden or in the great hall of concordia. The new stone garden of our campus invites to sit down, have a talk with young modern students and reflect about better teaching and learning from each other. How to open up the students occupying with such a difficult language like German, how to motivate them to become familiar with strange grammatical structures totally different from their native language and how to encourage and reinforce them having fun with applying their language abilities, enjoying more and more intensive conversations with experienced speakers.
Coming from mathematics and computer science I worked over thirty years in research and development of materials for individual and group learning processes. My special interests in this respect are all kinds of applications, using logics, philosophy and foreign languages as a tool for better understanding people’s and nations’ behaviour, action and cultural development.
South China Business College offers modern classrooms fully equipped with high standard teaching and learning materials that allow improving instruction methods for beginners and advanced learners. As a newcomer I settled for a while in the teachers’ apartment house, immediately in friendly contacts with colleagues from different foreign countries. From the dean of the college to the supporting supervisors, managers and office staff the working atmosphere is characterized by a high commitment to cooperation. The German department especially is on the way to create exchanging programmes for students and teaching staff in economic projects, advanced business studies, fostering friendship and welfare between Germany and China.
孔子曰:“一日为师终生为师!”。我认为在南国商学院可以找到和曲阜一样宁静的学习氛围。孔子曾经在曲阜,或是坐在石园或是门堂上,和睦地与弟子和哲学家探讨学问。
我院新建成的石园也有引发我们坐在园中和现代年轻学生无拘束地交流的渴望。在此交流中,互动间产生的火花能激发教师想出更好的教学方法,从而达到教学相长。如何激发学生对一门较难的语言产生兴趣,如德语;如何激发他们熟悉和母语完全不同的语法结构;如何鼓励和加强他们使用外语的能力,使他们更加享受与经验丰富的人进行深入谈话的乐趣。通过学习数学和计算机,我从事调查和研究个人或小组学习过程这一项目长达三十余年。在这一方面,我兴趣在于应用程序,通过逻辑思考、哲学和外语作为一工具,从而更好地了解人们和国家行为习惯和文化发展。
南国商学院提供现代化的教室,其配备高标准的教学和学习工具,以此提高初级和高级学习者的学习能力。作为一名新入职教师,我在教师公寓入住,来自不同国家的同事都主动示好。从学院领导到上级领导,行政管理人员和办公室职员都恪守团结合作的工作理念。本着中德两国互利友好原则,德语教研室也正筹划中德两国学生、教师、经济、高级商务学习之间交换项目。
