2014年3月27日，习近平访问联合国教科文组织时，提出了交流互鉴的文明观。其核心内涵是：文明是多彩的，人类文明因多样才有交流互鉴的价值；文明是平等的，人类文明因平等才有交流互鉴的前提；文明是包容的，人类文明因包容才有交流互鉴的动力。
During his visit to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on March 27, 2014, Xi Jinping proposed the concept of exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. Civilizations have come in different colors, and such diversity has made exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations relevant and valuable.Civilizations are equal, and such equality has made exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations possible. Civilizations are inclusive, and such inclusiveness has given exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations the needed drive to move forward.
坚持交流互鉴的文明观，应该推动不同文明相互尊重、和谐共处，让文明交流互鉴成为增进各国人民友谊的桥梁、推动人类社会进步的动力、维护世界和平纽带；应该从不同文明中寻求智慧、汲取营养，为人们提供精神支撑和心灵慰藉，携手解决人类共同面临的各种挑战。
To promote exchanges and mutual learning, we should promote mutual respect and harmonious coexistence among different civilizations, making cultural exchanges and mutual learning as bridges to enhance friendship among people of different countries, promote human social progress, and maintain world peace. We should seek wisdom and nourishment from different civilizations and provide spiritual support and comfort to people while working together to address various challenges faced by humanity.
当今世界，人类生活在不同文化、种族、肤色、宗教和不同社会制度所组成的世界里，各国人民形成了你中有我、我中有你的命运共同体。文明交流互鉴是推动人类文明进步和世界和平发展的重要动力。推动文明交流互鉴，需要秉持正确的态度和原则。文明交流互鉴不应该以独尊某一种文明或者贬损某一种文明为前提。各种人类文明在价值上是平等的。
In today’s world, people live in a world comprised of different cultures, races, religions, and social systems, forming a community of shared future. The exchange and mutual learning among civilizations play an important role in promoting civilization progress and the development of world peace. To promote exchange and mutual learning, it is necessary to uphold the correct attitude and principles. Exchange and mutual learning of civilizations should not be based on the premise of respecting one civilization or disparaging another. All human civilizations are equal in value, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

2014年3月27日，习近平主席访问联合国教科文组织总部并发表演讲，他说：“文明因交流而多彩，文明因互鉴而丰富。文明交流互鉴，是推动人类文明进步和世界和平发展的重要动力。”这一论述，深刻揭示了文明交流互鉴的意义和文明发展的规律，及文明在世界和平发展中的重要作用。
On March 27, 2014, President Xi Jinping visited the headquarters of UNESCO and delivered a speech, stating that “Civilizations have become richer and more colorful with exchanges and mutual learning. Such exchanges and mutual learning form an important drive for human progress and global peace and development.” This statement profoundly reveals the significance and laws of civilization exchange and mutual learning as well as the important role of civilization in the development of world peace.
2019年5月15日，习近平在亚洲文明对话大会开幕式上发表主旨演讲。在演讲中，他回顾历史、展望世界，阐明了文明交流互鉴的深刻哲理，提出了加强文明交流互鉴的“中国方案”。
On May 15, 2019, at the opening ceremony of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, President Xi gave a keynote speech, reviewing the past and looking beyond Asia toexplain the profound philosophy of civilization exchange and mutual learning, and proposing a “Chinese solution” to strengthen exchange and mutual learning among civilizations.
2022年7月10日，习近平主席在中国国家博物馆举办的“意大利之源——古罗马文明展”的致展览开幕式贺信中指出：“中国愿同国际社会一道，坚持弘扬平等、互鉴、对话、包容的文明观，以文明交流超越文明隔阂，以文明互鉴超越文明冲突，以文明共存超越文明优越，推动构建人类命运共同体。”
On July 10, 2022, in a congratulatory letter to the opening ceremony of “The Origins from Italy: Ancient Roman Civilization Exhibition” held at the National Museum of China, President Xi pointed out that “China is willing to work with the international community to adhere to the civilized view of equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness, transcend the barriers of civilization exchanges, conflicts, and differences, promote the coexistence of civilizations, and help construct a community with a shared future for mankind.
党的二十大报告中指出，“尊重世界文明多样性，以文明交流超越文明隔阂、文明互鉴超越文明冲突、文明共存超越文明优越，共同应对各种全球性挑战”，凸显了中国对人类文明发展与前途命运的大国责任意识。
The report to the 20th CPC National Congress pointed out that “we should respect the diversity of world civilizations, transcend the barriers of civilization exchanges, conflicts, and differences, achieve the coexistence of civilizations, and jointly respond to global challenges,” highlighting China’s sense of responsibility for the development and future destiny of human civilization.
人类创造的各种文明都是劳动和智慧的结晶。每一种文明都是独特的。一切文明成果都值得尊重，一切文明成果都要珍惜。历史告诉我们，只有交流互鉴，一种文明才能充满生命力。只要秉持包容精神，就不存在什么“文明冲突”，就可以实现文明和谐。
All kinds of civilizations created by human labor and wisdom are unique, and all the achievements of civilization are worthy of respect and should be cherished. History tells us that only through exchange and mutual learning can a civilization be full of vitality. As long as we uphold an inclusive spirit, there will be no “civilization conflict”, and civilization harmony can be achieved.

在纪念五四运动100周年大会上，习近平总书记发表重要讲话指出，青年是国家的未来，也是世界的未来。新时代中国青年，要有家国情怀，也要有人类关怀，发扬中华文化崇尚的四海一家、天下为公精神，为实现中华民族伟大复兴而奋斗，为推动共建“一带一路”、推动构建人类命运共同体而努力。
At the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, General Secretary Xi Jinping gave an important speech, pointing out that young people are not only the future of their country but also the world. 师生党员参观了粤剧艺术博物馆，认真研学了馆内展出的文物、雕塑、照片等，并通过影像资料，了解到了粤剧的发展历程，以及粤剧是如何从地方剧种逐步发展成现在的中国十大戏曲之一。
Teachers and studentsvisited the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, carefully studying the exhibited relics, sculptures, photographs, etc., and learned about the development of Cantonese opera and how it gradually evolved from a local opera into one of China’s top ten operas today through audio-visual materials.

重走永庆坊街，这里有许多由曾经旧城改造成的粤式传统建筑，坊内无不历史与现代的完美交融，深刻感受到了“历史文化是城市的灵魂”。参与活动的同学们纷纷表示，通过此次实地参观，受到了生动的现场教育，接受了深刻的文化洗礼，并一致认为保护弘扬物质和非物质的优秀传统文化任重而道远。
Yongqingfang Street is well-known for its traditional Cantonese-style buildings transformed where history and modernity blend perfectly together, profoundly demonstrating that “historical culture is the soul of the city”. The students expressed that through this field visit, they received vivid on-site education, baptized their cultural understanding, and unanimously agreed that protecting and promoting excellent traditional cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, is a long and arduous task.

Culture is the soul of a country and a nation, a bridge for communication across national borders, and a source of human social development. As Cantonese opera is the most circulated local characteristic drama and a representative of the world’s intangible cultural heritage, we have a greater responsibility to learn about our own culture, tell China’s story well, carefully guard the cultural heritage left by our ancestors.
我们应该牢固树立文化自信和制度自信，进一步加强对于传统文化、红色基因的继承和弘扬，让我们更好地把握时代脉搏、抓住历史机遇。在城市化进程持续推进的今天，我们必须要致力于保护弘扬物质和非物质的优秀传统文化任重道远，增加对传统文化的关注，助力优秀传统文化传承。
